چکیده

This paper deals with power allocation strategies in a wireless personal area network (WPAN) supporting the IEEE 802.15.4 standard for low power transmission. The proposed transmission strategy for nodes belonging to a single primary route towards a destination is referred as Multihop Cooperative Transmission Chain (MCTC). The MCTC is based on the relays of the same message by multiple terminals along the route and on their linear combination at the receiver to maximize the multihop diversity. Power allocations among transmitting nodes in the route can be obtained according to the average (not instantaneous) node-to-node attenuation exploiting the link quality (LQ) measurements available at each 802.15.4 compliant device. The proposed power assignement is recursive and can be employed locally with minimal signalling exchange among nodes. For WPAN networks where energy consumption reduction and throughput enhancement are main design challenges, the proposed MCTC scheme increases the network lifetime with respect to non-cooperative schemes by guaranteeing specific endto-end delay (and throughput) requirements.

Cooperative Relaying for Large Random Multihop Networks

In this paper, we propose a new relaying protocol for large multihop networks combining the concepts of cooperative diversity and opportunistic relaying. The cooperative relaying protocol is based on two diversity mechanisms, incremental redundancy combining and repetition combining. We assume that nodes in the large multihop network are modeled by a homogeneous Poisson Point Process and operat...

Trust Based and Energy-Aware Routing Protocol for Heterogeneous Multihop Wireless Networks

In multihop wireless networks, when a mobile node wants to communicate with a destination, it relies on the other nodes to forward the packets. This multihop packet transmission can extend the network coverage area using limited power and improve area distance efficiency. In the proposed multihop wireless network E-STAR integrates the payment and trust systems with the routing protocol with the...

Energy-Efficient Cooperative Routing in BER Constrained Multihop Networks

Due to the limited energy supplies of nodes, in many applications like wireless sensor networks energy-efficiency is crucial for extending the lifetime of these networks. We study the routing problem for multihop wireless ad hoc networks based on cooperative transmission. The source node wants to transmit messages to a single destination. Other nodes in the network may operate as relay nodes. I...

Energy Efficient STBC -Encoded Cooperative MIMO Routing Scheme for Cluster Based wireless sensor networks

Wireless sensor network (WSN) requires robust and energy efficient communication protocols to minimise the energy consumption as much as possible. However, the lifetime of sensor network reduces due to the adverse impacts caused by channel fading and interference in WSN. A cluster based cooperative multi input multi output (MIMO) routing scheme is proposed as a solution for this problem. Two MI...

Rate Adaptation for Cooperative Systems

Throughput is an important performance measure for data communications over wireless links. In this work, we consider joint adaptation of coding rates, modulation modes and level of cooperation for cooperative relaying to maximize the data throughput. We consider five different schemes with joint adaptation based on channel statistics: Direct transmission, conventional multihop, stationary and ...
